A Glimpse Into Our Work
Our developer, David, is currently working on an exciting project. Together with a specialist in integrated body construction, he is developing quality management software for an automotive supplier. The goal: to digitize and optimize quality processes, creating solutions that boost efficiency and ensure long-term quality.

“Working with the JITplant team at amotIQ automotive is a profound and solution-oriented partnership.”

Gerd Sihler, ICT Team Leader at IDEAL Automotive

A conversation with Gerd Sihler, ICT Team Leader Operating + Changes, and Matthias Ondra, Process Owner Logistics + Planning at IDEAL Automotive

The Situation

Following the establishment of IDEAL Automotive Ingolstadt GmbH, a specialist in textile interior components, the company was faced with a complex warehouse setup. A key requirement was to establish reliable communication between the existing warehouse software systems and a secure Just-in-Time (JIT) solution that could operate around the clock, 6 days a week.

The Solution

This need led to the beginning of a long-term collaboration in 2008 between IDEAL Automotive Ingolstadt GmbH – an international system supplier and development partner to the automotive industry – and the JITplant team at amotIQ automotive GmbH.

Gerd Sihler, ICT Team Leader at IDEAL Automotive, was looking for a comprehensive system supported by a reliable team with in-depth knowledge of OEM-specific processes. He found both in JITplant by amotIQ automotive.
JITplant maps all JIS (Just-in-Sequence) processes in logistics and production and integrates seamlessly into existing infrastructures. A standout feature: it can function either as a standalone solution or in combination with other systems – as is the case at IDEAL Automotive. There, JITplant operates alongside the SAP ERP system and also manages the required EDI processing.

“The JITplant team knows their product. They know exactly what they’re talking about.”
Matthias Ondra, Process Owner Logistics + Planning at IDEAL Automotive

Over the course of the collaboration, new customers and production sites were added to IDEAL Automotive’s portfolio. The flexibility offered by JITplant made it possible to respond to each system’s specific requirements and become part of these new projects. According to Gerd Sihler, this flexibility was crucial for IDEAL Automotive’s openness to new markets, allowing for individual customer requirements to be met with precision.

Thanks to the JITplant team’s background knowledge and deep process understanding, IDEAL Automotive initially received full customer support, with the amotIQ team even handling parts of the projects independently. In recent years, some responsibilities have gradually been transferred back to IDEAL Automotive employees – always under guidance from the JITplant team, which continues to provide support in the background and acts as a backup for more complex technical issues.
